I am very thankful to God for placing you in her life. She was so relieved after she spoke to you. In fact, she said, "dunno ma, whichever day I am top stressed, Carol calls me to soothe me." I am extremely thankful to you Carol.

In sixth grade, my math teacher did not teach that much. In seventh grade, I had the misfortune of getting the same teacher. I was frustrated, and I did not know what to do to get good grades.
Carol was a godsend; she always took the time to ask me about my day as she or I pulled up the worksheets I needed to work on. She made learning math fun, making up games or fun mnemonics to remember certain things.
I instantly saw a change in my grades. The B’s and C’s I was getting were turning into all A’s. I marveled at that.
She stuck by me and never made me feel like I was dumb, which is what many of the tutors before her had done. She helped me come up with a schedule and organize my life in a way. During my tenth-grade year, my father suffered a heart attack. The two weeks he was in the hospital were the worst weeks of my life. I did not know what to do or who to go to. But Carol was there. As soon as she heard, she dropped whatever she was doing and called me. We ended up talking for an hour, me crying for most of it. But Carol was there like she always had been; she was my pillar to keep me from crumbling. For that, there is nothing I can do to repay her.
Whatever may have changed throughout my life, Carol’s presence had always been constant. I honestly would not be able to do any of what I do today without her encouragement, guidance, wisdom, kindness, compassion, or insistence to use Khan Academy. She helped me set up a whole schedule to get my life together after having a nervous breakdown during a session.
This year, even though I don’t have tutoring anymore, Carol checks in on me every week asking if I’m okay and how my life is going. I am so blessed to have Carol in my life and I am do glad that she is in it as a constant light guiding my way.
Sincerely,
Nivedita C.
Carol is passionate about education, and is always looking for new and innovative ways to reach children. She has an innate sense of how to best approach a lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed observing her sessions as her supervisor.
Carol also is compassionate. This quality is so important in a teacher. I have seen her put aside the task at hand when she sensed a personal issue was impeding a child’s success. I have seen children blossom while working with her. She is able to assess where a student is at and come up with a stellar plan of how to help he or she reach their goals. I have seen her lead students on the path of going from non-readers to readers. Part of the reason she is so successful is because she cares. Her students know this, and it enables them to build trust with her.

My husband and I have a 12 & 9 year old. Both are dyslexic. We had tried several different ways to teach them to read. It has been a lot of frustration and struggle. Neither one of them were interested in wanting to learn to read. I decided to google online tutors and found Miss Carol. She has been a God send. She had both of my children reading within 3 months of working with them. They became interested and excited to read. I love how Miss Carol loves my children as if they were her own grandchildren. I also love how she pushes them, because she knows they can do what she is asking them to do. She never asks them to do something she knows they are not ready for. My children cannot wait for their tutoring sessions each week. They love how Miss Carol always starts the session with what they have done in the past week and ends the session with a game. They love looking at pictures of her farm animals or watching her inside animals on the live video feed. I seriously do not know what we would have done if we had not found Miss Carol.

I credit Carol Kelly with no less than saving my son educationally. As the parent of an educational and emotional special needs child, I know first hand the heartbreak the conventional educational setting can cause a child, and the frustration it can cause the parent. My son was diagnosed with Asperger Autism at age 6, which meant he was both incredibly intelligent and incredibly unmotivated. In spite of his aptitude for math and science, my son was falling further and further behind in his charter school and spiraling ever further down into the abyss of low self-esteem and hopelessness. And I struggled with the sickening feeling of not knowing how to help. Until I met Carol. I had already pulled my son out of school in favor of home schooling, but I am not a natural teacher, and we were struggling to make even the smallest progress. Carol became my son's teacher almost a year ago. In that time he has progressed two grade levels in math, has asked for additional hours with her and is making lightning strides with his reading and spelling. For the first time EVER he wants to learn.
